What Is the “Ugliest Front Walkway” Contest?

This winter, Landcor is searching for the front walkway that’s most in need of repair.

Homeowners can submit a photo of their front walkway for a chance to win a professionally designed and installed new front interlock walkway valued up to $10,000, completed by our team during the Spring 2026 season.

This contest is about improving safety, functionality, and curb appeal.

How To Enter

Take a Photo
Snap at least one clear photo of your front walkway. Winter is fine, just make sure we can see the walkway , no full snow coverage.

Complete the entry form below and upload your photo before March 31.

Wait for Judging
Our panel of Judges will review all entries and select the walkway most in need of repair.

Contest Timeline

  • Contest Opens: February 2, 2026

  • Contest Closes: March 31, 2026

  • Winner Announced: April 6, 2026

  • Project Completion: Spring 2026 (weather permitting)

The Sponsor

The “Ugliest Front Walkway” Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Fieldscape Inc. operating as Landcor Excavating (Landcor).

This Contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, Meta, Google, or any radio station or media outlet.

 Eligibility

The Contest is open to individuals who:

  • Are legal residents of Canada

  • Are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry

  • Are the legal owner of the residential property submitted

  • Own a property located within Landcor’s service area

  • Are legally able to enter into a contract for construction services

Employees of Landcor Excavating, its affiliates, and their immediate family members are not eligible.

Void where prohibited by law.

Contest Period

  • Contest Opens: February 2, 2026

  • Contest Closes: March 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM (local time)

Entries received after the Contest Period will not be accepted.

How to Enter

To enter the Contest, participants must:

  1. Complete the official entry form on the Landcor website

  2. Upload at least one photograph of the front walkway at the submitted property

  3. Provide accurate and complete contact and property information

Limit one (1) entry per household.
No purchase necessary to enter or win.

Entry Conditions

By entering, participants confirm that:

  • They are the legal homeowner of the submitted property

  • Submitted photographs accurately reflect the current condition of the front walkway

  • The entry does not violate any third-party rights

Landcor reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is incomplete, misleading, fraudulent, or non-compliant.

Judging and Selection

This is a skill-based contest. Chance plays no role in determining the winner.

Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges appointed by Landcor and evaluated based on:

  • Visible deterioration or damage

  • Safety concerns

  • Overall condition and need for repair

All decisions of the judges are final and binding.

Prize

One (1) winner will receive a front walkway repair or replacement with a maximum retail value of $10,000 CAD.

Prize details:

  • Services only; no cash value

  • Non-transferable and no substitutions

  • Any costs exceeding $10,000 CAD are the responsibility of the winner

Project Scope and Timing

  • The project will be completed during the Spring 2026 construction season, weather and scheduling permitting.

  • Final design, materials, layout, and scope of work will be determined solely by Landcor.

  • The prize applies only to the front walkway and excludes additional landscaping, unrelated repairs, or ongoing maintenance.

The winner must provide reasonable property access and cooperate with scheduling.

Winner Notification

The selected winner will be notified on or about April 6, 2026 using the contact information provided.

If the selected winner cannot be contacted within seven (7) days, is found ineligible, or declines the prize, Landcor reserves the right to select an alternate winner.

 Promotional Release

By entering the Contest, participants grant Landcor Excavating a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use submitted photographs, names, testimonials, and general location (city/town) for promotional, marketing, and advertising purposes without additional compensation.

 Liability Release

By entering and/or accepting the prize, participants agree to release and hold harmless Landcor Excavating from any claims, damages, injuries, or liabilities arising from:

  • Participation in the Contest

  • Acceptance or use of the prize

  • Risks inherent to construction and home improvement projects

General Conditions

  • Landcor Excavating reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if circumstances beyond its control affect the integrity of the Contest.

  • All applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws apply.

  • By entering, participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and the decisions of Landcor Excavating.

Privacy

Personal information collected will be used solely to administer the Contest and in accordance with Landcor Excavating’s privacy policy.
